Porcelain Veneers in Long Beach
Get a beautiful smile with Our All-Porcelain Veneers
A veneer is a custom-made thin porcelain restoration that is placed over an existing tooth in order to correct a cosmetic defect or minor structural flaw. Veneers can be used to correct chips, cracks, stains and other imperfections in order to give you a beautiful smile.
Dr. Pakiz has over 25 years of experience designing custom veneers for patients. The lab he works with uses high-quality porcelain to expertly craft veneers that create a beautiful, natural-looking smile.
Conditions veneers can handle
Veneers can be used to handle many tooth imperfections, including:
- Cracked, chipped teeth
- Stains or discolorations
- Gaps and spacing issues
- Misshapen teeth
- Teeth that are too small or too short
Procedure for creating custom, natural-looking veneers
Dr. Pakiz will evaluate your smile and suggest possible solutions for improving the aesthetics of it. He will also educate you on the pros and cons of veneers so you can decide whether or not they are right for you as opposed to other cosmetic treatment options.
Tooth shape and shade matching
Dr. Pakiz will work with you to choose the correct size and shape of your veneers. Using a shade matching guide, you and Dr. Pakiz will determine the correct color porcelain to be used.
Designing your veneers
Once Dr. Pakiz gathers all the information needed from your digital X-rays, photos and other diagnostics, he will draft the design of your veneers, then send it to a lab so they can create them out of high-quality porcelain. When your veneers come back from the lab, Dr. Pakiz will check to make sure they are a good fit, and when everything is exactly at it should be, he will permanently bond them in place.
Minor cosmetic issues, such as a chipped tooth, can sometimes be repaired with dental bonding. This involves applying an enamel-colored resin to your tooth, then sculpting and smoothing it to create a natural and blemish-free surface. A special light is then used to harden the resin so that it is permanently bonded to your tooth.
While dental bonding has some cosmetic applications, it does not last nearly as long as veneers and is also not stain resistant like veneers.
Conditions dental bonding can fix
- Chips and cracks
- Stains and discolorations
- Worn-looking teeth
