Invisalign® Clear Teeth Straightening in Long Beach

Beautiful, straight teeth without bulky metal braces

Invisalign is a proven alternative to metal braces and has been used by dentists for over 15 years to straighten teeth and adjust bites.

Instead of attaching unsightly, uncomfortable metal brackets and wires to your teeth, Invisalign uses clear plastic trays called “aligners” to straighten your teeth and correct your bite.

Dr. Pakiz is a Preferred Provider of Invisalign, and received special training at the Invisalign headquarters from one of the top Invisalign experts in the country. He has many years of experience straightening his patients’ teeth using this revolutionary system.

Custom aligners based on your treatment plan longbeachdentalhealth

Why is Invisalign better than traditional braces?

There are many reasons why the Invisalign system is better than traditional metal braces, including:

  • Invisalign clear aligners are almost invisible
  • The aligners are removable so you can eat, floss and brush your teeth
  • The aligners can be removed for special occasions
  • No more worrying about food sticking between brackets or wires – you can eat what you want!
  • Less office visits required than traditional braces
  • There are no wires or rubber bands so there is far less irritation of the cheek and gums.
  • The aligners are made from BPA-free plastic.

How Invisalign works

Dr. Pakiz will take iTero digital impressions, photos and X-rays of your teeth, which are then sent to the Invisalign lab and used to create 3D images of your teeth. These images are used to map out the exact treatment plan needed in order to move your teeth into the correct position. Dr. Pakiz will show you a virtual representation of how your teeth will move during each stage of treatment.

Custom aligners based on your treatment plan

The Invisalign lab will make a series of custom, clear aligners made of a smooth, BPA-free plastic. These aligners are virtually invisible and very comfortable, so you should experience almost no mouth irritation.

We recommend you wear your aligners for 20-22 hours per day, and only take them out as needed—for example, to brush your teeth, eat or floss.

Gradually straightening your teeth

Once you receive your aligners, you will take them home and change them out every two weeks. Each set gradually shifts your teeth closer to their final position. Dr. Pakiz will meet with you once per month to monitor and evaluate your progress.

Conditions Invisalign can fix

Invisalign can treat a number of alignment issues, from mild cases of crooked teeth to serious bite issues. Here are some of the main conditions Invisalign has helped patients fix:

Spaces or gaps between teeth longbeachdentalhealth

Spaces or gaps between teeth – Gaps or spaces can be caused by missing teeth that encourage adjacent teeth to shift. They can also be caused by abnormal continued jawbone growth. Gaps and spacing issues can increase your risk of gum disease.

Overly crowded teeth longbeachdentalhealth

Overly crowded teeth – a condition resulting from not having enough space for your teeth to fit comfortably in the jaw. Especially common with the lower teeth.

Overbite longbeachdentalhealth

Overbite – a condition where one or more of your upper teeth bite over your lower teeth. This can cause painful jaw and joint problems as well as gum irritation and wear on your teeth.

Underbite longbeachdentalhealth

Underbite – the opposite of an overbite, underbites occur when one or more of your lower teeth protrude past your upper teeth. This can cause joint problems as well as place undue stress on your teeth.

Open Bite longbeachdentalhealth

Open Bite – an open bite occurs when some of your teeth are unable to make contact with the corresponding teeth on the opposite jaw for a proper bite. This can cause joint issues and create chewing problems.

Crossbite longbeachdentalhealth

Crossbite – this occurs when one or more of your upper teeth bite on the inside of your lower teeth, which can cause tooth wear, bone loss and periodontal disease.

If you are suffering from one of these conditions contact us so we can schedule you for an Invisalign consultation. Dr. Pakiz will evaluate the current condition of your mouth and create a customized treatment plan for you.
