Dr. Pakiz has equipped his practice with state-of-the-art dental technology and equipment to provide you with the best possible dental care. Each of the devices featured below is used in our office to make procedures as comfortable, efficient and effective as possible.
We use a soft-tissue laser to provide treatment for moderate to advanced gum disease. The laser removes bacteria and diseased tissue in a gentle, nontraumatic way. Laser gum disease treatment is much gentler and more comfortable than traditional gum surgery using a scalpel.
Digital X-rays emit 80 percent less radiation than film X-rays, and they provide detailed, crisp images that are available in seconds.
We use an intraoral camera to project an enlarged image of the inside of your mouth onto a computer screen, so that Dr. Pakiz can show you any oral health issues that need to be addressed.
iTERO™ Digital Scanner
Quick, painless and comfortable, the iTERO is a digital scanner that allows us to take accurate, detailed impressions of your teeth. Digital impressions are used as part of the procedure for fabricating dental restorations such as crowns, bridges and veneers. The iTERO scanner eliminates the need for messy putties, and the digital impressions are more accurate than traditional impressions. This results in superior dental restorations that have an excellent fit.
In preparation for dental restorations, our staff will use digital cameras to take high-resolution images of your teeth. These images assist the doctor in planning crowns, veneers and bridges, and in the planning of other procedures.
CAESY Patient Education Videos
We understand that dental procedures can be confusing. Dr. Pakiz and his staff use CAESY interactive 3D models, animations and educational videos during consultations to give you an in-depth understanding of the procedures being offered and help you make informed decisions about your treatment.
We use ultrasonic scalers to perform thorough, gentle teeth cleanings. Ultrasonic scalers use high-frequency vibrations to remove plaque and calculus buildup from your teeth. The vibrations also produce shockwaves that kill gum-disease-causing bacteria. Ultrasonic scalers are gentler on the teeth and more comfortable for patients than traditional hand scalers.
Advanced Oral DNA Testing
As part of our gum disease treatment, we use DNA testing to identify the exact types of bacteria in your gums. This allows Dr. Pakiz to prescribe targeted, species-specific antibiotics to help eliminate your gum disease.
Arestin Antibiotic Therapy
Arestin is a time-released topical antibiotic that targets gum-disease-causing bacteria in the mouth. Dr. Pakiz often applies Arestin antibiotic therapy to the gum pockets after a deep cleaning to ensure that these bacteria are completely eliminated.
